Educational Scholarships for Students with Disabilities from North East India for Higher Secondary/Graduation/Post-Graduation/Professional courses.

Indus Towers Scholarship Program was launched on March 9, 2016 at Guwahati (Assam) with a vision of encouraging and helping students with disabilities of Northeast India to promote inclusive higher education for underprivileged and marginalized communities of NE India. This scholarship provides financial support towards academic fees to identified students with disabilities from the North-East region of India, i.e. Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Manipur, Nagaland, Mizoram, Sikkim, and Tripura, who are pursuing or wish to pursue higher education.

Additionally, some deserving students are also provided support for specific requirements of study materials, assistive equipment and devices, conveyance allowance and hostel fees to facilitate and motivate them to complete the course of study.

A CSR initiative of Indus Towers Ltd (formerly Bharti Infratel Ltd), implemented by Shishu Sarothi Centre for Rehabilitation and Training for Multiple Disability based in Assam, has already supported 316 scholars across 8 states of NE India since its inception in 2016.

WHO CAN APPLY ?
Young students with disabilities who are pursuing or aspire to pursue higher education in academic & professional courses at levels ranging from Higher Secondary to Post Graduation and beyond.

Category I: Students with disabilities from Northeast India, i.e. Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura

Category II: Student with disabilities from rest of India studying in Institutes of National Importance (INIs) in northeast India. viz.
